I’d love to hear your perspective on lateral epicondylitis. I’m a 57 year old man doing Crossfit for 3 months, and I’ve flared an old case of lateral epicondylitis, probably with pull-ups and lifting the barbell.
Also, do you know anyone in Boulder, Colorado with your kind of expertise?
I would like to hear about shoulder stability for male and female gymnast and love to see some strengthing exercises or a u tube channel with prevention exercizes
Hi Carol,
I would be happy to. I’m actually drafting and putting the final touches on an gymnastics overhead stability article series that should be out in the next few weeks. Thanks for taking the time to read, hope it’s helpful!

I would like to learn more about the necessary preventative care of gymnasts who have an extreme range of motion to their joints. How does it differ from gymnasts with average gymnast flexibility?
Hi Susan,
This is a big issue that comes up a lot with gymnasts, especially in the shoulders and lower back. The best way to preventative about these certain types of excessive motion or hypermobility is to try to build good strength, control, and stability to try and control this type of excess motion. It’s also really important to develop good core/extremity control, and make sure the gymnasts use good tight body positions during skill work. We want the gymnasts to be able to have good motion and flexibility for gymnastics skills, but not to be so mobile that we risk damaging joints or tissues. Every case is different and it varies a lot between what joint you are looking at. A lot of my posts, as well as other good resources, have some stability exercises that gymnasts and coaches can use to protect their overly flexible joints. Check the drop down menu on the right side of the home page to look through specific joints. Hope this helps! Thanks again for reading and commenting,
Dave
